The truth about Serums and oils for your hair

No matter your hair type we all have had dry and frizzy hair at some point in our lives. No one is really immune to it. The thing is though, that serums (or oils, whatever term you want to use) are band-aids. Please don’t mistake though, they have a very good purpose when used properly.

A lot of people want to use them to fix everything though. Dry hair, serum. Frizzy hair, serum. Flyaways, serum…Your hair is frizzy/dry/flyaway because it’s lacking moisture. Your cuticle opens up and becomes that way when it doesn’t have the moisture to fill in the holes, creating this christmas tree like appearance on your hair that shows up as frizz.

The simple answer to the story is though, always pair your serums with a moisturizing leave in product. The moisture product goes on your hair first to help fill in all the holes and the serum goes on over that to help control any frizz. You can apply a tiny bit more on dry hair if you are still having some frizz issues. Just remember that the moisture needs to be there to help support and make the serum work it’s best.

My all time favorite combo is the Loma Calming Creme and the Loma Nourishing Oil Treatment. Give you the moisture that you need and the oil is nice and light for all hair types.

Let me know if you have any questions but I hope this helps clarify how and when to use serum to make it work best for you. Now let’s get rid of that frizz!
